Kevin McQuaid first began training Lian Gong in the UK in 1993 under the tutelage
of John Walker & Tony Henrys of the Classical Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Society who
used the routines as a warm-
In 2006, he captained the first UK team to perform at the International Conference
in Shanghai -
Following this trip, Shire Hill Lian Gong Association Association was formed to promote Lian Gong in the UK by organising regular training courses.
Since 2006, Kevin has returned to Shanghai on numerous occasions to attended organised coaching courses and to train with Master Coach Zhuang Jian Shen on an individual basis. He is the most qualified and experienced of any European instructor of all three sets of Lian Gong Shi Ba Fa and is Chief Instructor of Shire Hill Lian Gong Shi Ba Fa Association. He is qualified to teach Lian Gong Shi Ba Fa in China and runs regular training courses in the U.K..
Currently, Kevin is organising a UK team to perform Lian Gong Shi Ba Fa at the International Conference in Shanghai in 2010 to coincide with the World Expo.
Kevin McQuaid is also a Taijiquan Instructor and the only UK student of Fu Qing Quan (grandson of Grandmaster Fu Zhong Wen). He is a qualified instructor for the World Yong Nian Taijiquan Federation and is qualified to teach Taijiquan in China.
